Commentary on Psalms - Volume 5

John Calvin · scripture, bible-commentary

Psalm 130

1Out of the depths have I cried to thee, O Jehovah!

2O Lord! hear my voice; Let thy ears be attentive to the voice of my prayers.

3If iniquities thou shouldest mark, O God! O Lord! who shall stand?

4For with thee is forgiveness that thou mayest be feared.

5I have waited for Jehovah, waited hath my soul; And in his word have I hoped.

6My soul [hath waited] for the Lord Before the watchers of the morning, the watchers of the morning.

7But hope let Israel in Jehovah; For with Jehovah there is mercy, And with him there is plenteous redemption.

8And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
