Commentary on Psalms - Volume 5

John Calvin · scripture, bible-commentary

Psalm 98

1Sing ye to Jehovah a song that is new, For marvels he hath done: Salvation wrought for him hath his own right hand, And the arm of his holiness.

2Made known hath Jehovah his salvation: In the sight of the heathen he hath revealed his righteousness.

3He hath remembered his goodness and his truth towards the house of Israel: Seen have all the ends of the earth the salvation of our God.

4Exult to Jehovah all the earth; Make a loud noise, and exult, and sing psalms.

5Sing psalms to Jehovah upon the harp, Upon the harp, and with the voice of song:

6With trumpets, and the voice of the cornet, Sing psalms before the King, Jehovah.

7Roar let the sea, and the fullness thereof; The world, and those who dwell therein.

8Let the floods clap the hand: Together let the mountains exult

9Before Jehovah: for he cometh to judge the earth; He shall judge the world in righteousness, And the peoples with rectitude.
