Commentary on Psalms - Volume 5
John Calvin · scripture, bible-commentary
Psalm 101
1Of mercy and judgment I will sing; To thee, O Jehovah, will I sing psalms.
2I will act wisely in a perfect way, Until thou comest to me; I will walk in the integrity of my heart in the midst of my house.
3I will not set before my eyes a wicked thing; The work of those who turn aside I hate; It shall not adhere to me.
4A heart perverse shall depart from me; Evil I will not know.
5He who slandereth in secret his neighbor, him will I destroy: The lofty in look and the wide in heart him I will not suffer.
6My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me: He who walketh in an upright way, [Even] he shall minister to me.
7He shall not dwell in the midst of my house, he who worketh deceit; He who speaketh lies shall not be established before my eyes.
8Early will I destroy all the ungodly of the land; That I may cut off from the city of Jehovah all the workers of iniquity.
