Psalm 8
To the chief Musician upon Hagittith. A Psalm of David
O Jehovah, our Lord! How wonderful is thy name in all the earth, To set thy glory above the heavens!
Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings Thou hast founded thy strength, because of thy adversaries, To put to flight the enemy and the avenger.
When! see thy heavens, the works of thy fingers; The moon and the stars which thou hast arranged:
What is man that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him lower a little than God, And with glory and honor thou hast crowned him.
Thou hast set him over the works of thy hands: All things thou hast put under his feet.
Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also the beasts of the fields;
The fowl of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, And whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
O Jehovah, our Lord! How wonderful is thy name in all the earth!
